Kirkcaldy Youth Music Theatre (KYMT) are celebrating their 60th year and have recently performed their production of ‘Chicago High School Edition’ at the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy. Multiprint have been proud sponsors of the group since 1987, designing and printing their posters and programmes.
The programmes for the shows are normally a 12pp A5 booklet printed on 150gsm silk in 2 colour with a full colour cover but we decided to make it a little special this year. As the colour scheme of the ‘Chicago High School Edition’ is gold and black we thought we would add a touch of metallic gold ink and gloss laminate the cover.
Harry Kerr from KYMT also came to us with plans of a 60 years anniversary brochure to mark the special occasion: “Kirkcaldy Youth Music Theatre has just celebrated its 60th Anniversary. It was decided to mark the occasion by producing a commemorative booklet reflecting the 60 years. A thread of an idea about the format and content of the booklet was discussed with Laura at Multiprint who then translated the concept and enhanced it into a fantastic memento.”
Designing the brochure, which includes snippets of history, past programmes and photos about KYMT from the last 60 years was a challenge but really enjoyable. It was really interesting to find out so much about the group who I have been designing for since their production of ‘Eurobeat’ back in 2012.
George Warner, founder and director of Multiprint, is also a life member of KYMT and said “On behalf of Multiprint I wish to congratulate KYMT on the occasion of their 60th anniversary. Many young people have found enjoyment and friendship whilst being a member of KYMT and in performing in their annual productions the standard of which seems to get higher every year. Well done to everyone associated with KYMT.”
