Printing for Fife Artists

We have certainly seen a rise in artists looking to start selling their art as prints, so we wanted to tell you about what Multiprint can offer and how easy it is for us to take your art to the next level. We have also featured a few very talented, Fife artists who use our services regularly and they tell you why they continue to use Multiprint.

Working with us

When a new business approaches Multiprint for our design and print services, we welcome them to meet with us so we can get to know them and their brand. It is no different for artists. When you want to work with us, we encourage you to come in with your paintings, let us know what materials you use and what finished result you want from your final prints. From seeing your work we can then decide on the best method for scanning, printing and advise you on what paper would really compliment your art.

For digital prints we offer the option of silk and uncoated papers in various weights but we can certainly order in samples if you are looking for something extra special. If you are not sure on which you like best we can simply offer you a printed proof on each finish to help you decide.

Scanning

When it comes to scanning your art we ask that you leave it with us. This is so that we can compare it against the digital print and make any necessary tweaks in Photoshop to match the original. We take great care with any artwork that is left with us, we understand the time and care you have put into creating it.

After scanning we can also supply you with electronic files (eg. jpg or pdf) of your art which comes in very handy if you are selling your work online or just like to have an electronic library of your work. This is included in the cost of your scanning. We also keep your scans on our files incase you return looking for additional prints or other items such as bags or mugs.

Printing

The majority of artists we work with choose digital printing. It is more economical for shorter print runs and enables us to turn around your order quickly. We have our digital press which can produce prints at various sizes up to SRA3 (450mm x 320mm) and our wide format machine for larger prints such as A2, A1 or even larger.

For some artists who need larger print volumes or work with a limited colour palette we recommend litho printing. If you are not familiar with litho printing you can read about the process here in an earlier blog post.

More than just prints

Selling your artwork doesn’t have to stop with prints. We can help you put your artwork on other items such as greetings cards, coasters, mugs, bags, teatowels, keyrings and more. All you have to do is ask and we will happily work out your quotation for what you are looking for.

Hear from our local artists

Below we have featured some local artists who regularly use our services. Please visit their websites to view more of their amazing work.

Susan McGill

Its easy to spot a Susan McGill design with her signature black and white typographic style. She creates amazing ceramics and when she needs her other artwork scanned and posters and cards printed she pays us a visit.

“I am a local artist working in Kirkcaldy and I have used Multiprint for many different aspects of my work. It is so beneficial for me to have a local printer where I can go in and sit down with drawings and get all the advice and expertise required to reproduce my artwork. Over the years I have used Multiprint for producing high resolution large format scans, greetings cards, festival posters, beer labels and more and have always been delighted with the results. They are easy to contact and really straightforward to work with. I go into Multiprint and they know my style of work, which weights of paper I prefer, the colour codes I use and the level of detail I require. I don’t know anywhere else where I would feel as confident handing over my artwork.”

Megan Bett

Megan’s style is becoming very well known in Fife. She creates amazing, fun, vibrant animal characters and they are available as prints, cards, bags and coasters. She also paints pets and baby scan commissions.

“I run a small business and have been using Multiprint since I opened 18 months ago. The team always go above and beyond to help with my needs. Laura is particularly great at speedy responses and helping me out with stock last minute. Nothing is too much bother for the team and there is always excellent communication. My artwork is always scanned at such a high quality and the printing quality always amazes me. After using a few other printing companies, and not being impressed with their work, I would never use anyone else other than Multiprint, they are excellent in what they do and I would highly recommend.”

Kerry Hogg

Kerry is one of our newer customers but we already feel we know her art very well. She paints a variety of subjects, including fun versions of much loved Scottish brands.

“I’ve been using Multiprint for a while now to produce prints and cards featuring my artwork. The quality of the prints are brilliant, the price is very reasonable and the service is always professional and fantastic. I always get a quick response from staff whenever I get in touch, they’re really helpful and always super friendly when I pop in to collect my order. It’s important to me to use local suppliers whenever I can and I can always rely on them for support and guidance to get the right product for my needs. A brilliant company to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone!”

Grant White

Grant paints mainly landscapes with inspiration from the Highlands and Islands.

“I have used Multiprint for some time now and cannot fault the service or quality of the prints produced. All of the staff are very friendly and do their utmost to help out, even when asked for one-off prints at short notice. It helps dealing with a company who know their trade inside out and provide expert advice when asked. Would not go elsewhere!”

June Cunningham

June specialises in portraits but also paints wildlife and landscapes using oil and acrylic paints as her medium. As well as selling prints, printed by Multiprint, she is open for commissions.

“As an artist, I use Multiprint to get some of my artwork replicated as prints. I know the quality of reproduction will be excellent, and the designer will work with me if the painting has lots of complex areas of light and shade so that tones and colours match exactly. The quality of the paper I chose, following helpful discussion of the options, is actually 330gsm so like card and is super; this was commented on by another art and framing company in Edinburgh who framed some of these prints for display purposes. Its reassuring to know that people in the industry think it is excellent. I have received good reviews of every print I have ever sold, so my customers are happy with the quality too. The simple fact is that Multiprint always deliver on quality, quickly and with helpful, friendly five star customer service. What more could you ask for!”
